Love him or hate him , he sure hits the nail on the head with this!

Bill Gates recently gave a speech at a High School about 11 things they did not and will not learn in school. He talks about how feel-good, politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept set them up for failure in the real world.

Rule 1 : Life is not fair - get used to it!

Rule 2 : The world doesn’t care about your
self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.

Rule 3 : You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won’t be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.

Rule 4 : If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss

Rule 5 : Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping: they called it opportunity.

Rule 6 : If you mess up, it’s not your parents’ fault , so don’t whine about your mistakes, learn from them.

Rule 7 : Before you were born, your parents weren’t as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent’s generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.

Rule 8 : Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they’ll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This doesn’t bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.

Rule 9 : Life is not divided into semesters. You don’t get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time.

Rule 10 : Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.

Rule 11 : Be nice to nerds. Chances are you’ll end up working for one.

Thank You to all the kind messages
Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009

Lately I’ve received many messages from people who have read my Secrets Exposed books. I read each and every one and they really touch me. Here are some messages I have received:

“Dale, I LOOOOVE your books! I have Male and Female Entrepreneurs Exposed books, and I am getting Secrets Internet Entrepreneurs Exposed soon. Thank you for inspiring me and the rest of the future business person throughout the world.” - Tini, Malaysia (This is why I love write and publishing books)

“I’ve read your book “Secrets of Internet Entrepreneurs” and have changed my life course- dramatically. I am (was) a broadcast designer by profession (animated titles and effects for television) but will now focus my talents on 3 things. 1: helping businesses promote themselves, 2: giving everyday people a chance to have their life story recorded in books and on video 3: drug education marketed directly at kids and teens.

Thanks sincerely for the kick start!

Many, many thanks, Matt”

I am so glad that my books and work are out there changing people’s live and really making a difference.

Great email that made my day
Wednesday, May 6th, 2009

I received this email and it just made my day. It is always great to know that my work has a positive impact on people’s lives.

“I came across your book, Secrets of Property Millionaires Exposed!, at a point in my life when I was looking for something that I was interested in, that could involve my husband and our kids (2 1/2 yr old and 1 yr old twins at the time) and create a wealthy future for us all - quite a tall order! I had always been interested in property but had thought that it was only for the mega rich.

Your book showed me that this was not the case, that ordinary Aussies, like myself, could get involved too. It inspired me to take action and it equipped me with the tools I needed to create my own game plan.

Now, almost 2 years later, I have a property portfolio worth in excess of $3.3 million and I am very excited about the future.

Thanks for putting together such a great “How to Manual”

Cheers
Kate Blanchard”

Warren Buffet’s New Year Message
Monday, March 2nd, 2009

We begin this New Year with dampened enthusiasm and dented optimism. Our happiness is diluted and our peace is threatened by the financial illness that has infected our families, organizations and nations.

Everyone is desperate to find a remedy that will cure their financial illness and help them recover their financial health. They expect the financial experts to provide them with remedies, forgetting the fact that it is these experts who created this financial mess.

Every new year, I adopt a couple of old maxims as my beacons to guide my future. This self-prescribed therapy has ensured that with each passing year, I grow wiser and not older.

This year, I invite you to tap into the financial wisdom of our elders along with me, and become financially wiser.

Hard work : All hard work brings profit; but mere talk leads only to poverty.
Laziness : A sleeping lobster is carried away by the water current.
Earnings : Never depend on a single source of income.
Spending : If you buy things you don’t need, you’ll soon sell things you need.
Savings : Don’t save what is left after spending; Spend what is left after saving
Accounting : It’s no use carrying an umbrella, if your shoes are leaking.
Auditing : Beware of little expenses; a small leak can sink a large ship.
Risk-taking : Never test the depth of the river with both feet.
Investment : Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.

I’m certain that those who have already been practicing these principles remain financially healthy. I’m equally confident that those who resolve to start practicing these principles will quickly regain their financial health.

Let us become wiser and lead a happy, healthy, prosperous and peaceful life.

Warren Buffet

The Story of the Farmer and the Donkey
Sunday, August 10th, 2008

A few years ago I came across a story which I loved.

Today I am going to share with you. Enjoy the read!

_______________________________________

Farmer and the Donkey

One day a farmer’s donkey fell down into a
well. The animal cried piteously for hours as
the farmer tried to figure out what to do.

Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the
well needed to be covered up anyway;
it just wasn’t worth it to retrieve the donkey.

He invited all his neighbors to come over and
help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began
to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the
donkey realized what was happening and cried
horribly. Then, to everyone’s amazement he
quieted down.

A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally
looked down the well. He was astonished at what
he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit his
back, the donkey was doing something amazing.
He would shake it off and take a step up.

As the farmer’s neighbors continued to shovel
dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it
off and take a step up.

Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey
stepped up over the edge of the w ell and
happily trotted off!

Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds
of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well
is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of
our troubles is a steppingstone. We can get out
of the deepest wells just by not stopping,
never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up.

Remember the five simple rules to be happy:

Free your heart from hatred - Forgive.

Free your mind from worries - Most never happen

Live simply and appreciate what you have.

Give more.

Expect less

Today Annette Justin, one of our members, sent me this message as she felt it was appropriate to share with you - and I agree!

Please read the message below and think about the fact that often the answers you seek are right in-front of your nose…
______________________________________________

Thinking Logically

You are driving down the road in your car on a wild, stormy night, when
you pass by a bus stop and you see three people waiting for the bus:

1. An old lady who looks as if she is about to die.
2. An old friend who once saved your life.
3. The perfect partner you have been dreaming about.

Which one would you choose to offer a ride to, knowing that there could only be one passenger in your car.

Think before you continue reading This is a moral/ethical dilemma that was once actually used as part of a job application.

You could pick up the old lady, because she is going to die, and thus you should save her first.

Or you could take the old friend because he once saved your life, and this would be the perfect chance to pay him back.

However, you may never be able to find your perfect mate again.

The candidate who was hired (out of 200 applicants) had no trouble coming up with his answer.

He simply answered: “I would give the car keys to my old mate and let him take the lady to the hospital. I would stay behind and wait for the bus with the partner of my dreams.”

Sometimes, we gain more if we are able to give up our stubborn thought limitations.

Never forget to “Think outside of the Box.”

Yes it’s called Peace Warrior. Let me explain…

Last night I went down to my local video store and hired a video which I have been busting to see.

Back in 2002 my wife Katherine suggested that I read one of her favourite books. It is called, The Way of the Peaceful Warrior and it’s by an author named Dan Millman.

First published the year before I was born, I had some doubts as it whether it would be any good. However I decided to take Katherine’s advice and discover why she loved it so much.

So I read it and really enjoyed it…

The story is based on the younger life of the author Dan Millman and is about the power of the human spirit.

As the book focuses on Dan’s life as a national gymnast, I could really relate to many parts of the book.

However, the book goes down another path when Dan meets a mysterious stranger he refers to as Socrates. Socrates seems to hold the power to tap into new worlds of strength and understanding and becomes Dan’s mentor who guides him through various avenues of his life.

The story is deep and the messages it contains are profound - so it is the kind of book you really need to be present to read. I even used a highlighter when I was reading the book.

Anyway 27 years after the book was first published, it has now been made into a feature film - and it has just come out on DVD.

Of course I can’t show you the entire DVD, but I have managed to find the tailer of it which previews the movie and I have added it below.

It only goes for 2 minutes and will give you a quick taste of what the movie is about.

Press PLAY to view now:

So that is my tip for today… Go to the video store and ask for this movie!

Until tomorrow this is Dale Beaumont recommending you read the book The Way of the Peaceful Warrior and/or watch the movie titled Peace Warrior.

Today’s post is a continuation from yesterday. If you have been away for a few days, please read below before coming back up. Having said that, here is Part 2.

_____________________________________________________

“I believe life is a choice; I can choose to be positive or negative. Being positive gives me a better chance in life than being negative. It also directs my attention to what I can do, rather than what I cannot do.

For example, when I broke my right arm, I did not use it as an excuse to not do my homework. I was confident that the teachers would empathise with me but I did not take advantage of their empathy. Slowly but surely I learnt to write with my left hand and completed all my assignments - the reward? I am now ambidextrous.

For others that are presently experiencing problems of their own I believe there are a number of things that you should do in order to overcome them. The first is to be grateful that you have challenges. Your challenges are meant to make you better not bitter. If there are no battles how can there be victories? If there is no rain how can you enjoy the awesome sight of a rainbow? The next thing is to take responsibility for your challenges and face them head on. The challenges you attack will teach you patience, perseverance and self-discipline. They will build your character and strengthen your self-belief.

Also, don’t give up hope. There will be times when the only thing that goes off according to plan is the alarm clock. There is always another chance if you look at things positively and in the right perspective. And whatever your challenges are never indulge in self-pity! It is a waste of time and nobody appreciates it.”

Jeremy wrote those words when he was just 15-years-old. Now he’s 16 and having just completed school in the top 2% of all students, Jeremy is off to university to study genetic engineering to fulfil his dream of helping others to develop better treatments for disease.

Jeremy Lim

So if you are ever feeling a little misguided, depressed or downright frustrated with your life, remember the words of young Jeremy Lim ‘being positive gives a better chance in life than being negative’. Then pick yourself up, smile with gratitude and do everything you can to make the most of what you have got.
